Critical PowerPoint Security Flaw |
Microsoft is warning Windows users about a virus that exploits a security hole in PowerPoint, the well-known presentation software. There is currently no solution to this problem, so users should be extremely wary about opening PowerPoint attachments.
The Virus installs a keylogger on the victim's machine, which will record all keystrokes typed by the user, as well as giving the attackers remote access via a backdoor. So, for example, passwords for online banking would be recorded as the user types.
Users should take particular care, and are warned that it might be weeks before a patch is released. For more information about this security flaw from Microsoft, see this link: Microsoft Powerpoint Security Vulnerability |
