Spam rules Spam rules Some Do's and Don't's regarding Spam, remember some responses might just make matters worse. Simple rules:   Don't reply, ever!   Never buy anything from a spammer. Don't make spamming worth the effort - plus you'll get even more spam once they know you're willing to buy. Think twice before forwarding chain-letters or petitions. Mass-mailings like this still constitute spam and the lists of addresses on them are later used by spammers. Don't 'mail-bomb' the spammer who seems to have singled you out. The address included in the spam is probably forged or belongs to a mailbox the spammer ignores. Check the spelling and grammar of mail If you are not sure if the email is real or not contact the user by phone.  Never open attachments from unknown mail  Do make sure you have anti virus software on your machine Invest in spam filtering on top of the basic system. We have spam filtering systems on all our servers BUT the spammers are getting better and better at making the spam appear real. We always keeping the filters up to date but some spam is getting through. Check your email client has robust filtering in its system like Thunderbird for Mac or Windows. If you wish to report spam you can here. It may not stop it but it will put the people trying to clean up the net onto blocking it. Security Ibex Internet will NEVER ask you for your login details. Please DO NOT EVER give them out to anybody. This also goes for banks, Ebay and other on-line systems. Just think about it, they are in control of the system and can normally reset the passwords, so why would they want to get them of you!
