The Heightec group is an expanding company which manufactures and distributes equipment for work at height in a wide range of industries, and offers specialist training for work at height. Heightec approached Ibex Internet to design a website, and after consultation, the priorities were identified as search engine performance, product-led navigation, usability and the ability to present fresh content as and when required.
 Ibex designed a sophisticated database-driven system to present Heightec's product range, while interlinking with the training courses and industry-specific content. The navigation is designed to present the user with links to relevant products and courses depending on the path chosen. Because database-driven content can perform poorly in terms of search engine ranking, Ibex implemented a pro-active system to optimise the site for search engines in every way. Advanced CSS techniques were used for further search engine optimisation and accessibility. Design of pages was done to a tight brief reflecting Heightec's already developed corporate image.
The site went live in August 2004. Since then, search engine performance has been phenomenal, with the site figuring on the first page for almost any search related to Heightec's area of business. Business brought in from the site has exceeded all expectations. Further development of the site is planned, watch this space! |
